Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme 2021: The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), Ministry of Education launched “Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme” in the year 2014 for the states of North Eastern Region. Students who passed out 12th will get benefits from this scheme.

Online Applications are inviting from the meritorious students for Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme 2021. Students from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, Tripura will be able to submit applications into this Scholarship Scheme.

Objective of Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme

The basic objective of Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme is to provide equal opportunities for higher studies in NE Region, To increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in NE Region, To focus more on professional education in NE Region, and Optimum utilization of NER Budgetary Allocation.

Eligiblity for Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme

Any student from the domicile of North Eastern Region & have passed 12th already or equivalent examination from a school situated within NER through any recognized Board of Education, including Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) within NER only, and have secured admission in a general degree course, technical and professional courses including medical and paramedical courses (Integrated courses included) in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions recognized as under-

• Universities/Institutions/Colleges included under Section 2(f) and 12 (B) of UGC Act.
• Deemed to be Universities included under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 and eligible to receive grants-in-aid from UGC.
• Universities/Institutions/Colleges funded by Central/ State Government.
• Institutes of National Importance.
• Institutions recognized by other Statutory councils within as well as outside.

Course Semester/Class: Only students are eligible who are studying in 1st year of their course or 1st semester.

Course: For integrated degree courses the scholarship will be tenable for the complete duration of the course. For dual degree courses, the scholarship shall be tenable for the first degree only. The university shall clarify it while recommending a candidate for a scholarship.

Family Income: Only those students are eligible whose parent’s income in annual is not more than Rs.4.5 lakhs.

Reservation: Students with the Transgender category are also eligible for this scheme and reservation will be as per government rules.

Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme is Not For

• Students pursuing courses/ programs through Open Universities.
• Students already availing scholarship for pursuing the Undergraduate programme under any other scheme(s).
• Students gaining admission through ‘management quota’.
• Students pursuing courses, such as Diploma Courses, not leading to award of a Degree.
• Students whose parent’s income is more than Rs.4.5 lakhs per annul.

How to Apply for Ishan Uday Scholarship Scheme

Student wants to apply for Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme can directly apply from National Scholarship Scheme(NSP) official portal scholarships.gov.in. ALso you can check the Step by Step Process below-

1. Scroll down to the Important Link below.
2. Click on the Direct Application Link.
3. NSP Oficial Portal will be opened.
4. Now go to the “New Registration” Button available on the top. (Skip this registration step if you have already registered).
5. A detailed guideline page will be displaed, read this carefully & click Contine after tick the buttom checkbox.
6. Now fill the form as shown below and Register.
7. After Registration, you will receive the Application ID in the next page. Note this for future use and click Continue button.
8. Now login page open, enter the crediencials received at the mobile no. and login.
9. Agen you need to fill the from like, Registration Details, Academic Details, Basic Details and click on Save and Continue button.
10. Then upload the required documents.
11. Now Submit the application.
12. Afer submitted you will receive the acknowldgement receipt. Take a printout of this acknowledgemnent.
13. In the last step the students needs to submit the acknowledgement receipt at the Institute where she/he took admission for further studies alongwith the documents ask from the Institute Authority.

Following Documents will be Required

1. Joining Proforma for fresh awardees (Annexure-I)
2. Proforma for renewal ( Annexure-II)
3. Certificate of income by the Competent Authority of the State Government in which the student is domiciled.
4. Domicile State Certificate by the Competent Authority.
5. Quarterly Continuation certificate(Annexure-III)
6. Affidavit (Undertaking for not availing any other Scholarship in the form of an affidavit on Rs.50/- Stamp paper from the student/parent duly attested by SDM / First Class Magistrate / Gazetted Officer (not below the rank of Tahsildar) copying the prescribed languages (Annexure-IV).
